I seek the narratives of everyday life and transform them into jewellery objects. I am fascinated by picture books, and their simple yet philosophical way of implying ethics and morality.
I have made jewellery which is interactive and playful, the box jewellery contains a surprise, just like turning a page. For the past four years I have been a foreign student in Edinburgh; my final year's work has explored narratives by making an ant collection reflecting my own life in Scotland.
Ants come out of their nest when searching for food. To be outside of one's territory is a risky adventure: at the same time it is an invaluable experience. The sugar cubes symbolize my own experiences collected over the past four years: seeking something which involves an element of risk but ultimately worth the discomfort.
I experiment by combining different textured materials such as glass and metal encouraging tactility and playfulness. I design using humour and a sense of fun to provoke surprise and pleasure for the viewers and users.
